While not on ancient religions perse an often overlooked
Marxist interpretation of religion in the workingclass is
Michael T. Taussig's classic: The Devil and Commodity
Fetishism in South America. Chapel Hill, University of
North Carolina Press. 1980
Also Engels on Christianity. On class struggle in the
Ancient World the book the Ancient Lowly, sorry don't
remember the autor, deals with proletarian struggles in the
Ancient world.
