Re: [Marxism] Canada's Role In Iraq

Canada has displayed all sorts of generosity, twisting along in the United
States' wake.

For example, when Foreign Minister Pierre Pettigrew, an urban and fluently
bilingual member of Martin's cabinet, went to Gonaives Haiti two months ago
-- when water and mud still filled the streets and tens of thousands of
people were still homeless -- he promised Haiti help in rebuilding
Gonaives' central court and jail. They had been washed away in the floods.

Canada's generosity and humanitarian concerns deeply impressed me.
How could the U.S. imposed dictatorship in Haiti, headed by a US-Haitian
businessman who appears to trying to make the Duvaliers look like chorus
boys, build a powerful repressive aparatus without a court, without a jail
in one of Haiti's largest cities?

Canada made a great contribution to the UN-sanctioned, UN-implement but
U.S. initiated occupation of Haiti.

/greg
