[Marxism] NY Times & Judith Miller on Arafat

This pitiful collection of words masquerading as an obituary makes it
clear that the completely justified criticisms of Judith Miller should
really be directed against the NY Times. Undoubtedly, there was a long
obituary long-ago prepared and brought up-to-date to be published when
Arafat died. It would have covered the history of the Palestinian
struggle, it would have explained Arafat's rise to preeminence and the
personal details that enrich such a story.

It is all missing from the Judith Miller obit. It is not even a
rewrite. It's a joke. And it had to have been a top decision at the
Times to insult its readers with such dross.

For a comparison, here is the LA Times. Whatever its political
weakness, it is at least a serious undertaking.
