This report says the US forces are moving more quickly than they
expected, occupying the city without searching houses -- they haven't
even opened a door, the article suggests -- and meeting scattered
resistance. This reporter says he saw four GIs injured, and a few dead
insurgents, but no sign of the planned large-scale killing of
insurgents. The city, as he reports, seems to be basically empty except
for scattered fighters who are harassing troops. Of course, the scene
may be different in other sections.
