I think it is just a reflection on the increased turnover of
messages on that page.
There have really a very great number of messages in those days, so
that those people who rely on this "Last 100 messages" would have to
retrieve much more messages in that same timeframe.
Let Juriaan Bendien explain the statistical issue in detail.
