It is this understanding that seems totally lacking in The Militant

As far as I know, there is only one other self-described Marxist current
that is as hostile to the Iraqi resistance as the American SWP. It is
called "Workers Liberty", a small state-capitalist sect in Great
Britain.

They are actually Shachtmanite bureaucratic collectivists - and they
seem to be following the same general political trajectory as Shachtman
did in the last decade of his life. They also have a soft spot for Israel.

The Workers Communist Party of Iraq is quite hostile to the resistance
as far as I can see from the views posted by one of their spokespersons
on a British discussion list I follow.

I don't know if the Communist Party of Iraq still describes itself as
Marxist, but it appears to be an enthusiastic supporter of the Allawi
puppet regime.
