DCQ makes some good points, but I think deliberately avoids an important
one.  Words don't mean the same thing to different people, so they CAN
be used to hide meaning.  In this discussion of whether or not blacks
constitute a "nation," I've been urging people not to get caught up in
the words but to focus on their meaning in terms of practical politics.

That said, DCQ should take his sociology textbook to a used bookstore,
sell it and buy himself a dictionary: the word isn't "niggarly" but
"niggardly" and has nothing to do with race.
