RE: [Marxism] The fight for Black self determination is not against white people but against the US state

I very much appreciate Fred's taking the time to offer us a concise
statement of his views, which are very well considered and expressed.
They also reflect a unique and innovative application of "nation," and
see it as something not necessarily pointing towards physical
separation.

His last post hits on an extremely important point.

There are a couple of points that should be considered somewhat. The
black experience has been very diverse and complex. Racial lines are
totally smudged by the American experience, which is one of the reasons
why there is such a strong legal and cultural mechanism for creating
clear lines of "race."

Then, too, it wasn't a civil rights movement that created a black
bourgeoisie. Segregation had created the need for black lawyers,
doctors, etc. and, even during slavery, there were some free blacks in
business for themselves. ...and, the more I contemplate it, the more
evident it becomes that this is one of the real problems for me. These
folks have their own agenda, no more forward-thinking and no more social
than that of the wider middle class.

Solidarity!
Mark L.
