[Marxism] Class and Social Conflict Theory

Hi,

It is often remarked by liberals that the realisation of a classless society
would not of itself bring an end to social conflict, since there will always
be differently-held conceptions of what is good, what is right, or what is
an ethical way to live. These disputes over ideals and their prevalence are
said by liberals to produce conflcit in and of themselves. In response it
can be argued that it is social inequality, competition, and deprivation
which prevents people from living their lives in the way that they think
best. It is, furthermore, the case that class interests regularly transcend
the interests of groups defining themselevs in terms of ideals, values, and
beliefs. It is also true, as Aldous Huxley proposed, that there is at least
as much unity of ideals and aspirations in the major world religions as
there is disunity.

Can anyone recommend any literature suggesting the thesis that *all* social
conflict is ultimately the result of class conflict?

cheers.
