Re: [Marxism] Lula's troops take on Aristide supporters

Comrade, read what you wrote. The US and France reinstall a genocidal army.
Lula sends troops to defend them against Aristide supporters. So we should be
nicer to Lula?

And of course the obligatory illusions about Kerry bringing justice to Haiti --
just like his mentor Clinton did (sic).

I think it is really wrong to focus on the role of Brazil and Lula in
Haiti and ignore the U.S./French puppet Latortue and the band of bandits,
ex-Macoutes and ex-military the U.S. and France trained and supplied. It
also would be useful to remember that its was the Marine bodyguards of the
U.S. ambassador hustled Aristide on the U.S.-rented plane on Feb. 29th and
sent him off to the Central African Republic, a French neo-colony.

While Brazil does have the majority of UN troops in Haiti, and its general
Augusto Heleno Ribeiro commands the operation, other countries in Central
and South America have also contributed troops, tho none have come from the
Carribean.

Of course, it would be interesting to point out Lt. Gen. Augusto Heleno
Ribeiro told the official Brazilian news agency, that Kerry had raised the
hopes of Aristide supporters that if he became president, Aristide would be
able to return. Ribeiro said "His statements created the expectation that
instability and a change in American policy would contribute to Aristide's
return."

On the face of it, this is a UN official interfering in the internal
affairs of the United States, which might be why Ribeiro backed away from
his statement a bit.

Latortue, the U.S.'s puppet in Haiti, has criticized South Africa for its
interference in Haiti's internal affairs, which is actually an admission
that he has not been able to stop the mass protest against his regime that
Fanmi Lavalas has led every two or three weeks since the coup, Feb. 29.
