[Marxism] Evolution of Sectarianism within Marxist Philosophy????
For the broad picture, I recommend:
V.I. Lenin, The Three Sources and Three Component Parts of Marxism,
available at:
http://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/works/1913/mar/x01.htm
Walter Kendall, The Labour Movement in Europe
Z. A. Jordan, The Evolution Of Dialectical Materialism
Fernando Claudin, From Comintern to Cominform
T.H. Rigby and J. D. B. Miller, The disintegrating monolith: pluralist
trends in the Communist world
Sheila Rowbotham et al., Beyond the Fragments
A good discussion of sectarianism can be found in:
Hal Draper, Karl Marx's Theory of Revolution, Volume 2: The Politics of
Social Classes.
On sources about Trotskyism, see Wolfgang Lubitz's site at
www.trotskyana.net
An historical overview is available in Pierre Frank, The Fourth
International: the long march of the Trotskyists.
Marxism is inherently sectarian, insofar as it pretends to be an
all-encompassing theoretical system which contains all of the answers to all
of the questions in advance, within a system of categories that covers every
conceivable topic.
For some of my personal reflections on sectararianism, see
