RE: [Marxism] The Marxist monopoly on social revolution
Marxism, in general, was shaped by the context in which it built a
distinctive movement. The capitalist world of corporations, patents,
and monopolies shaped the late 19th century Left in the sense that it
came to mirror the assumptions about originality, etc.
The Henry George movement provided a perfect example of how promising
insights self-sectified. In its most orthodox forms, Marxism has tried
to to the same--successfully in the case of the Socialist Labor Party.
It's also a Social Darwinist idea that if any group might somehow tweak
the "correct line," everything else will fall into place for it.
Solidarity!
