  My point was that Marx' and Engels' attitude against national  
oppression, and the realization that this has disastrous consequences  
for the oppressor nation, did not start with their deepening  
understanding of the anglo-irish relations, and did not undergo an  
important turn, but was already applied in the 1848/49 revolution, by  
campaigning against Prusso-German oppression in Poland (the Prussian- 
ruled parts of Poland) and Austro-German oppression in Italy.

  That's all. Just historical accuracy.
