Parenti is very good on Yugoslavia. He was also there and did an
eyewitness account which is good to read.  We actually ran it in
'revolution' magazine about 1999.

You might also check out stuff written by Diana Johnstone (Lou P could
give you references) and Joan Phillips.  I just did a search on Joan
Phillips and Yugoslavia and it turned up a chunk of her stuff, including
an article she wrote in 'Covert Action Quarterly'.  She also made a doco
called "Journalists At War" around 1994, which showed how the media
misrepresented events.  Plus there is a fascinating article by Thomas
Deichmann, showing how British news agency ITN created concentration
camp images out of a fence around a shed.

I think the left groups that championed Kosovo and demonising the Serbs
have a lot to answer for.
