He was born in Venice in the same year as Ernest Mandel, but outlived Ernest
by a decade. Apart from his political activities since the beginning of
world war 2, Livio also translated a lot of Trotsky's writings into Italian,
not a small feat. He was a tenacious revolutionary, a resolute
internationalist, and a fighter till the end.
