Ralph Nader to Run in Florida

Miami, September 18 (RHC)--Controversial US presidential
candidate Ralph Nader is to be allowed to run in the
important swing state of Florida. In a ruling that has
angered the Democratic Party, the Florida Supreme Court
says that Nader's Reform Party may run as a political party
in spite of a challenge that it was not a genuine political
organization.

The ruling is seen by Nader critics as a boost to George
Bush who in 2000 won Florida by a margin. Anti-Bush
activists say that votes for Nader gave Bush the presidency
and contend that the Republicans are surreptitiously
supporting the Nader campaign to split the progressive vote
and undermine John Kerry.

Many left-wing activists in the US agree and there has been
a heated effort to try to persuade Nader from running in an
effort to ensure Bush is removed from office, regardless of
whether they support Kerry or not.

Although Ralph Nader has been struck off the ballot in four
states, he and his running mate, Peter Camejo, will be
running in 36 others with the remainder still considering
his application.

Among his stands are a separate Palestinian state and no
war in Iraq.
