It is not my intention to speak for those who have to face GWB's
direct blows (Cuba, Venezuela), but

(a) our problem is _not_ that LA has had enough of Bush, our problem
is that LA has had (lots more than) enough of imperialism, and [most
important]

(b) the American people doesn't seem to have had enough of
imperialism as yet.

Thus, our problem is not "ABB", it is "ABAI" (that is, "anything but
American Imperialism"). If Bush serves a second term, maybe the
American working class will start to feel they have had more than
enough of imperialism themselves.

In this sense, the man is serving _us_ better than the American
bourgeoisie.

Were I an American radical, I wouldn't care less about the continuity
of Bush. I would not rejoice at a second term, but I would not drink
champagne at a fast recall.

Yes, of course: this may sound cynical to Cubans, Venezuelans, and so
on. I am aware of that. And I certainly respect this position. It
is quite easy to prattle about your best neighbor's backyard while
the tornado is menacing his house and not yours. However, it should
be accepted that there is a good deal of general truth to what I am
saying. With Kerry things might be smoother (at first, at least: I
don't see him releasing the grip on Colombia, etc.), but they will
run along the same lines they have been running up to this day, and
will be more cunningly framed up.
