Woody Allen Speaks His Mind on Bush

San Sebastian, Spain, Sep 17 (Prensa Latina) With his
characteristic incisive humor, US filmmaker Woody Allen
affirmed Friday, "If one listens (to Bush) attentively, he
provides many chuckles... (but) he´s a perfect synthesis of
tragedy and comedy."

In his statements to the press in Spain, where his "Melinda
and Melinda" opens tonight at the San Sebastian Festival,
Allen said it would be "an automatic tragedy" if US
President George W. Bush is reelected on November 2.

Allen thus joins other Hollywood stars opposing Bush´s
reelection, among whom are actors Tim Robbins, Sean Penn
and Susan Sarandon, filmmaker Michael Moore and singer
Barbra Streisand.

The quintessential New Yorker is with his family in San
Sebastian, where he will receive the Donostia award for his
contributions to cinematography.
