Out of 300 million in the u.s., only a few thousand are, even in
principle, "fighting capitalism." To carry that fight out we clearly
need to expand our numbers, and the most obvious pool of near-future
recruits include many ABBs and those non-voters who (if they did vote)
would vote for the DP. (Immediate recruits may exist among the
Nader/Camejo supporters.) After all, very few marxists were born that
way, and most of us, at least momentarily, were left-liberals, generic
anarchists, etc. on the road to our present position. These facts call
for a certain tact on our part in dealing with ABBs.
Moreover, in most localities (certainly in mine) nearly the whole of the
anti-war movement, including many of its more important organizers, are
either ABBs or (for the present) committed to the DP.
