My take on the polls is...bullshit. Think about it this way. Gore WON the
last election (popular vote and, arguably, electoral vote). I have yet to
hear or of a single person who's voting for Bush who voted for Gore last
time around, yet there are plenty of people (among them many prominent
military people) who voted for Bush who are voting for Kerry this time. Add
in the number of people who voted for Nader last time who will be voting for
Kerry this time, which we all know is a significant fraction of the Nader
voters. All that adds up to Kerry doing significantly BETTER than Gore, and
Gore won the election.

Polls are wrong. You can speculate all you want about WHY they are wrong
(improper sampling, bad models for "likely voters," whatever), but they are
wrong.
