[Marxism] "Carthage must be destrpyed!"

   The polls consistently show that 2-3% support the Nader/Camejo campaign  
as a clear left alternative.This translates to about 2-3 million people. In the 
face of mudslinging, personal slander, dirty tricks and outright demagogy as 
well as no access to the mass media, 2-3 million people are saying no to 
lesser evilism and yes to a clear and militant left opposition to the corporate 
elite. This represents the best opportunity for the building of a mass left 
political party since the 30s.
     In ancient Rome, a senator-perhaps Cicero- in attempting to rally the 
senate to the importance of defeating Carthage ended every speech with the 
slogan, "Carthage must be destroyed!" And he got his wish. I am attempting to 
tell 
every anti ABBer I know personally or thru their writings,"this movement must 
not go into hibernation after the election!" I  spoke to Camejo last weekend 
and he feels that the Green Party must be taken back from the Demogreens and 
reinvigorated as more than a vote-catching machine, but a movement that fights 
for our agenda 365 days a year.This type of party is what the antiwar movement 
, anti racist and anti-sexist movements need.This is the type of party that 
would never give a free pass to the corporate elite and would speak  to and 
energize the tens of millions, mostly people of color and working class who 
don't 
vote because their life experiences have shown them that things don't get any 
better under Dems or Repubs. We could end their cynicism by being a dependable 
ally in their/our struggle.
    If Bush is elected, there will be some demoralization at first, and if 
Kerry wins many in the movement will  give him a honeymoon, but in neither case 
 will we go into hibernation - they won't let us. The US military  must take 
on the resistance in Fallujah, Basra, Sadr City and elsewhere and attempt to 
crush it. They must be able to assert complete control of all of Iraq for this 
adventure in empire-building to be considered successful. The price will be a 
high number of casualties and maybe the return of the draft. This will yank the 
movement out of any demoralization/honeymoon and qualitatively ratchet up the 
antiwar sentiment that already in the last year has reduced the percentage of 
supporters of the war from 63% to 46%! 
     So I'm asking you to think about spreading the message; to get involved 
in taking back the Green Party from the agents of the Democratic Party and 
reinvigorate it  so that it can fully express the outrage of the American 
people. 
Hopefully we can someday be as successful as Cicero- in a far nobler cause!
