[Marxism] Mesa seeks support from MAS leader

Maybe i was to quick to jump to conclusion about the break with MAs and
Mesa as MEsa is once again seemingly reaching out to Morales. However given
the stated rejection of Morales and Mesa's refusal to negotiate as stated
in the article it seems talks are not likely to go to far.

Bolivian President Seeks Support from MAS Leader

La Paz, Sep 2 (Prensa Latina) Bolivian President Carlos
Mesa will meet Thursday with Movement towards Socialism
(MAS) leader Evo Morales and delegates of 20 social
organizations, in an attempt to find support for his
position on hydrocarbons (natural gas).

The president and the leftwing politician confirmed the
meeting that Morales made conditional on popular
organizations` participation, a demand due to which MAS
refused to attend a negotiation round between the president
and Congress representatives.

The president will explain, in the meeting, the government
law project to hold the referendum approved July 18, due to
the executive`s hydrocarbon policy, authorities stated.

Morales reiterated his rejection of the government proposal
and said the MAS and social, worker, farmer, indigenous,
teacher, and other sectors` organizations will demand
direct nationalization of hydrocarbons, discarded by the
executive, because it considered it inconvenient.

Mesa insisted on his request to the Congress for approving
the refendum-result execution project, without altering its
essence, and to discuss later a hydrocarbon law about
guidelines established in the first proposal, and explained
that what is important is to guarantee fulfillment of the
people`s wishes.
