[Marxism] RE: Stan Goff article, and the nonvalue of using a word that has lost its value
All mispelled words aside, deaf ignition, is what I meant, Steve. That's
what traditional marxists have for their movement using the traditional
narrow marxist definition of 'value' as political guide stick.
Instead of communication in terms that have common meanings to the majority,
some marxists still want to use terms that obscure, more than clarify. The
discussion over the phrase 'petty bourgeosie' and what should that actually
signify sheds some light on how obscurantism can hide behind claiming to be
nothing more than the search of solid, scientific methodology in
terminology.
In medicine, there is this cloak of the wizard-in-oz terminology, also. And
it raises the issue of which side is truly deaf, like in DEAFinition. Docs
say the patient is deaf, yet to the patient it is often the doc who appears
DEAF-DEAF-DEAF. Patients runs out when the docs get indigant for crouching
their crap in Latin 3 times, and then still the peon is still not able to
repeat what's being said. The docs get full of disdain! How stupid the mob
is they will cry.
In today's world, everybody but the traditional marxist knows that
somethings have 'value', whether touched by mankind's hands, or not. 'Value'
is very concrete to the masses (another word without value), and not just a
term that only has significance through social relationships and economic
production structure. Talking of value in terms of the marxist economic
meaning in treatises and tomes of yesteryear does not advance dialog. It is
like the 'science' of McDoanlds as they talk of quantified scientific
nutrition of their full value meals. Kind of sad really.
The 'science' is used to obscure, not clarify. And the true McD's definiton
of 'value' is... 'cheaper' at the counter, Fatty. We are trying to advance
different economic concepts than the measurement of just 'value'. We now
have to assign 'value' to items like rain, sun, and air. The vocabulary has
to change. Otherwise, the marxist is like a doctoral nerd or McDonald's
management.

I think you misspelled a word. Didn't you mean "deafinition"?
