RE: [Marxism] US military BOASTS of killing 300 in Najaf as fightingspreads
Since it is the specific, articulated policy of the U.S. military NOT to
do "body counts," the release of this data point suggests either that
the U.S. Marines got a real bloody nose in Najaf or that they have
caused massive loss of civilian life. Either way, they felt a need to
get out ahead of the story.
The battle of Najaf does illustrate that Fallujah is not unique, but
rather part of a trend where, as the resistance consolidates in
population centers, actual control slips from the grip of the U.S. and
into the hands of elements from civil society who have placed themselves
at the head of the insurgents.
