RE: [Marxism] PSL emerges from Workers World
Last night I attended a report-back from people who were
part of the recent border crossings to Cuba at the office
of ANSWER in Los Angeles. About forty people attended of
whom a number were formerly members of WWP here in L.A.
Ian Thompson and Juan Jose Gutierrez spoke, and members
of the audience who had been part of the challenges also
spoke, including myself and three others.
There I picked up a copy of the new magazine of the new
Party for Socialism and Liberation, a full-sized 56-page
journal costing $4.00 per copy.
The party was founded three days ago, so it hasn't got lots
of literature explaining its roots and party platform. So
far, all they have to tell the world about their past is:
"As former leaders and members of Workers World Party, we
defend that group's historical tradition and mission,
particularly that of its founder Sam Marcy. Although we
believe that the Workers World Party leadership is no
longer capable of fulfilling that mission, we still
consider it to be a progressive organization with many
honest activists."
