[Marxism] RE: Who is David Cobb?

Well now, Walter Lipmann has added his voice in addition to Paul's, all to
plea for us to recognize those 'differences' out there between the DP and
RP. But who has ever said that every ruling class politician is an exact
clone of each other? This desperate search for 'difference', hence somehow
finding the DP to be better rule by the ruling class for the world, is
pretty inane. It's done without a shred of historical evidence that this
'difference' matters a pile of beans. To anybody.

Walt says it matters to the Cubans. so it should also matter to us! Christ.
This has got to be yet the limpest and lamest of why we should suport Kerry
arguments I have yet heard. Maybe the Cuban point of view is more just
Walt's view? Or maybe the Cuban leadership marginally believes this crap?
I don't know. Are we all to believe that with Kerry in, and Fidel just
expired, that Cubans and Cuba can just lay back and breathe a big sigh of
relief that Kerry won the election, Walt?

What is important, is that the US Left have some priniciples and not fold
its program up into the lesser of evilist project every four years like has
been done like clockwork in the US for decades. Now that would be a
DIFFERENCE with capital letters. I bet Cubans would like that DIFFERENCE
demonstrated here in the US of A.

This Cobbism within the Green Party has sabotaged making that DIFFERENCE
this election. Nader saw it coming, and tried to desperately outflank this
capitulation by going outside GP ranks to try to cutoff this Green
bureaucratic coup. It appears that he was less than successful, thouigh.
But at least he made the effort, though Walt and Paul and so many others
seem to feel that he just doesn't understand the difference.

Paul says that my own love of theorectical purity, as he puts it, is really
just ultraleftist nuttiness. Yes if one can't see the difference between
Kerry and Bush and vote for Kerry, then one is an ultraleftist! And I
guess, that by being a Texan, if I could have encouraged all my fellow
Texans to have voted Ann Richards some years ago, I would have helped save
the world from this great scourge of Cheney and Bush? I would have nipped
the bud of the Bush, so to speak! Gosh, Paul, what have I done by being so
ultraleft as not to have had the vision back then of getting out on the
bandwagon for Ann? Did I not see the difference? How blind I was it seems!

And gosh what a difference there was when Tony Sanchez was trying to stop
the Bushy progeny here (the current Tex gub) recently. But my inherent
doctrinaire purity held me back. I didn't see the difference, and I didn't
make the difference. Because of ultraleft purist wimps like me, the Texas
working masses were unable to mobilize enough for 'Tony', which would have
been a knife to the heart of Bush nationally! What have I done? Did we not
see the differences?

See where all this difference recognizing leads us to, Walt and Paul?
Ultimately, it leads us to choosing to vote for the DP candidate for
neighborhood dog catcher, because he will save us from the rabid dog that
the RP candidate would just let roam the neighborhood. Why should I go help
the Greens organize for their independent dog catcher candidate campaign,
when such a big stake is out there between not fighting to stop the RP from
capturing the dog catcher post in my neighborhood? I would just have myself
to blame if the Republican won because of my ultraleftism, and some kid got
bit, would I not? This is the logic of this 'safe states' crap. It keeps us
from making a DIFFERENCE.

<<On most issues, Bush and Kerry are essentially the
same, but not on Cuba. Kerry favors visitation and
remittances, while Bush doesn't. There is no way
Kerry could be worse on Cuba than Bush is. Cubans
clearly understand this, even though they have no
illusions that Kerry is any kind of friend of the
Cuban people or their revolution.

To your average far leftist in the Unite States
it may make no difference, but to Cubans it does
make a difference. It's unfortunate that so many
on the US far left insist that everyone on the
entire planet look at these matters through the
same spectacles that Marxmailistas seem to do.
