One can support a regime against imperialist intervention (indeed it's
the classic pre-Stalinist Comintern position) without seeing it as
representing a qualitatively different form of society.

I had intended to respect Louis's suggestion that this thread be
discontinued (because of its flaming potential), but I just had to
answer that.
