FAROUK ABDEL-MUHTI
As a Palestinian activist in the US, Abdel-Muhti has been engaged for many
years in a number of public political activities, with a focus on
Palestinian rights and issues relating to immigration and Latin America.
Most recently,in March 2002,he began working regularly at community radio
station WBAI-FM,arranging interviews with Palestinians in the Occupied
Territories.One month later INS agents and New York City police agents
arrested him. After being detained for almost 2 years by U.S. Immigration
officials,and never charged with a crime, Farouk was finally released just
this last April.
JESS GHANNAM teaches at the University of California at San Francisco and is
President of the SF American Arab AntiDiscrimination Committee and belongs
to
both the Free Palestine Alliance and al-awda.
