RE: [Marxism] Nader ballot woes

The lure of supporting an out-and-out socialist is admittedly strong.
However, when I encountered the Socialist Party argument that voting for
them wouldn't hurt Kerry as much as a vote for Nader, I gagged quietly.

To hell with that kind of "Socialism".

I want to hurt Kerry. Very badly. If we could cost him the election,
all the better. If the Democrats can't give the workers any better than
a more gaunt Bush, screw 'em.

The necessity now is breaking the two-party system, by getting as many
voters as possible to see a third party alternative as viable. We need
to pool our ballots to make the possibility of an alternative as
visible, and as viable to the voters as possible. A few million for
Nader does that.

Contributing to getting getting the Socialist Party another 5,000
vote--which is what Reynolds got last time--or getting a few tens of
thousands in various SWP or WWP columns doesn't do it. And, frankly, it
just strikes me as serving no purpose but that of a religious ritual.

Still, if the only alternative is Kerry, then, by all means, cast your
Vegetarian Labor Party ballot!!

Solidarity!
Mark L.
