Re: [Marxism] Prioritizing 101 with US Stooge Iyad Alawi
There is something particularly disgusting about a puppet
trying to sound like a strong man.
But Allawi will never be anything other than a figure that
inspires deep hatred and scorn among Arabs. He will be safe
nowhere outside the Green Zone in Baghdad and perhaps not
even there.
Predictably the Kurd leaders, Talabani and Barzani have
capitulated depsite their recent letter complaining about the
lack of guarantees of their autonomy. The Sadr uprising gave
Sistani, who opposes Kurdish autonomy, a veto over what was
in the proposed constitution. The Kurds have suffered the
fate of all lick spittles, when the master, whose buttocks
they cling to, has to make compromises he always sacrifices
the loyal lickers. Indeed the more loyal the licker the more
certain is it that he will be betrayed, and no one could be
more loyal at that task than Talabani and Barzani.
In military terms it looks as if the USA have reverted to
their return to bases with occasional forays strategy. This
is clearly designed to minimise American casualties, but it
has the consequence of putting pressure on their Iraqi
followers. The storming and looting of the police station in
Najaf is a clear paradigmatic case of the fall back to the
Green Zone strategy in action. The Americans did not
intervene while their allies in the police were attacked.
The message will not have been lost on all those who wish to
work with the opposition.
So it looks like we are in for a period when the resistance
will attack the soft targets and the new Allawi "government"
will grow ever more hysterical in its threats - hence the
talk of capital punishment.
At some stage the Americans will have to come out of their
bases and then we will have either a re-run of the Fallujah
disaster, or the American military will deploy sufficient
brutality and soldier power to turn Iraq into a wilderness,
which they will call peace.
regards
Gary
