[Marxism] Blair and TV
Just by coincidence, on Friday this week -
m
BBC has just completed a 4-episode dramatisation of "He KNEW he was RIGHT"
by the Victorian novelist Trollope.
and
TV5 has shown the Polanski's film Frantic - concerned with the machinations
of CIA and the lack of concern by US officials for US citizens in difficulty
abroad.
Complete coincidence, of course, but these showings seem particualrly
appropriate for the few days in which once again Blair has tried to take the
high ground = of course, BRITISH troops to not stoop to the low activities
of US servicemen in the abuse of prisoners !! - and so he manages to get rid
of the editor of the Daily Mirror, who blew the gaff, with pictures mow
cleverly identified as "fabricated" - just as they managed to get rid of
Greg Dyke, Director of BBC, over the affair of the "suicide" of Dr Kelly
(but few forensic consultants believe that slashing wrists is a effective
way of committing suicide - rather than just a way of drawing attention to
the need for help !!)
and
ITV carried an episode of "Midsomer Murders" in which a murdered body
disapeared from jurisdiction by the local constabulary - and the conclusion
of the episode was that it was all a "put up job" by members of the "Special
Investigation Branch" to secure £5million for themselves. !!
Talk about TV support for "conspiracy theories" !!
I am sure there are many in UK who doubt the official line about David
Kelly - and, come to that, the official line on Princess Diana !!!
Support for government and MI5 are disappearing fast, and it is strange that
TV dramas seem to be arranged to enhance the feeling !! [Just as Hollywood
ever since the 1930s with the stories starred in by such as James Cagney and
Howard Raft have conspired to inspire knowledge (feelings) that there is
corruption in high places in government, the FBI, CIA etc etc.]
Blair and Co. insist of "bluffing it out" [He, of course, "KNOWS he is
RIGHT"] - but is increasingly seen as out of touch with reality, just as
was the main character in Trollope's movel (and I thought Trollope was
Blair's favourite novelist - but perhaps I am wrong - it certainly was John
Major's !! ) but then he has the votes on June 10 [EU and local elections]
to contend with - when the count of spoilt votes by those who distrust all
the establshed parties will be of interest- but the problem of their illegal
attack on Iraq and their support for the US administration, increasingly
seen as the MAIN problem in the world , remains to haunt them {i.e Blair his
cronies]- the Daily Mirror and the BBC may have collapsed on their command,
but new revelations are published by the New Statesman (this Friday) and the
Obsever (today).
NO I am not an advocate of conspiracy theories, but "it makes yer think" !!!
