Re: [Marxism] Dead wood
Louis talked about the problem of Hotmail (in particular) mailboxes filling
up, and others mentioned the (lack of ) privacy policies of the new Google
mail.
There's a simple solution. Subscribe from a Hotmail address, but set your
Hotmail filter to send all mail from Marxmail into the trash, so you never
have the problem of the mailbox filling up. Now simply read Marxmail on the
web, either here:
http://www.columbia.edu/~lnp3/maillist.html
or here:
http://archives.econ.utah.edu/archives/marxism/index.htm
And, of course, this answers the question of Google mail "privacy" as well.
Because ALL your posts on Marxmail are archived PUBLICLY, so worrying about
privacy doesn't really make much sense. Anyone in the world can read what
you, and everyone else, writes on Marxmail. If you're concerned with
privacy, create a Hotmail account under a pseudonym, and subscribe to
Marxmail and everything else under that name. The FBI could still probably
track you down based on your IP address, but at least you'll have SOME
modicum of privacy.
