Whoa! even by the minimal (i.e., rhetorical) standards of the French
Socialists, who gave even social-democrats a bad name, Revel was no
"socialist", let
alone one of "considerable standing." He has been a consistent apologist for US
imperialism since at least the publication of The American Challenge 30 years
ago and an advocate for a ruthless European competitive response at the
expense of public-sector jobs and "rationalization" in the name of (capitalist)
"efficiency."
