[Marxism] Re: Jim Jones
In a post on the Newman-Fulani support for Nader, someone cited a long list
of democratic politicians making favorbale noises about the late jim Jones and
People's Temple, the cult which imploded in mass murder-suicide in Guyana. --
presumably as a cautionary note on flirtations with the wacky.
Readers may wish to consult a piece by Jim Hougan in the British journal
Lobster a few years ago: Hougan documents Jones's sinister apprenticeship in
Brazil with a renowned CIA propaganda specialist 20 years before the disaster in
Guyana and the efforts of the embrrassed Democrats to distance themselves from
his support. There may have been somebody else's method to the madness at
Jonestown.
