Report from our correspondent in Caracas

Readers of Marxist.com will be aware of the fact that a few weeks ago
President Chavez of Venezuela dedicated 20 minutes of his "Alo
Presidente" TV programme to our web site and our Hands off Venezuela
campaign.

Last Sunday evening we were once again on this programme, but this time
there were five comrades of the international Marxist tendency on the
show. This shows the growing role of the Marxist tendency in the
process of the Venezuelan revolution and the international solidarity
movement Hands off Venezuela.>>


I wonder if this unusual public stint was not directed against the Trotskyist
and in general ultra-left critics
of Chavez in Venezuela.  I recall that some Trotskyist groups inside the
country made a "united front"
with the scum of the earth in the trade union bureaucracy and big bourgeoisie
and played some part
in organzing "national strikes" in attempt to overthrow Chavez.
