My guess is that far more workers in the United States read Haït-
Progrès, which is published in French, Creole and English every week,
than read the Militant. They are mainly Haitian and Haitian-Americans,
but they are generally, nearly entirely workers.
(I should admit that I write for Haïti-Progrès, generally in French.)
There are other journals besides the Socialist Review, the Socialist
Worker, Workers World and the Vanguard that appear on the left (or far
left if you want to use that formulation) that have some influence -- in
particular the People's World, the USA CP's paper.
Comparing and contrasting their opinions on certain topics -- like March
20th demonstrations, Haiti, Cuba -- in my opinion, would be more
enlightening than flagellating the Militant and the US SWP, as much as
they do deserve it.
Just a point on readership -- at least in the US, web editions and search
engines like Google have given the left and the African American press a
wider audience at least on some topics -- like Haiti.
