re: criminalizing iconoclastic symbol-defacing and coercion of the "Pledge
of Allegiance" on children, I offer this modest double- haiku as an antidote to
the new-found patriotism of Todd Gitlin and in honor of the atheist guy who
argued the case to the Supreme Court:

If the flag don't stand
for the right to burn the flag,
it stands for nothing

worth pledging an oath
of allegiance to, so you
might as well burn it.
