it seems like about once a week I get the message that

Your membership in the mailing list Marxism has been disabled due to
excessive bounces The last bounce received from you was dated
12-Mar-2004.  You will not get any more messages from this list until
you re-enable your membership.  You will receive 52 more reminders
like this before your membership in the list is deleted.

When I *immediately* click on the supplied code number I get the
message that it has expired.  So I have to go to my membership page
and click enable.

However, the message about 52 reminders is ambiguous -- does it mean
that if this happens 52 times my membership is deleted?  If so, I must
have lost about 20 of my 52 lives.

No other list has this trouble.
