Woodchipping out of control -- save Australia's forests!
Despite some successes by the environment movement, woodchipping of
old-growth forests continues to be rampant. Tasmania has the dubious
honour of being the woodchip capital of Australia. More than five
million tonnes of woodchips are extracted from Tasmania every year --
more than the rest of the country combined. Profit-seeking corporations
are destroying irreplaceable old-growth forest -- this environmental
vandalism must be stopped! [Full story]

On March 20, 2004 ? the first anniversary of the invasion of Iraq by the
Coalition of the Killing ? people all around the world will take to the
streets once again. They will protest a war that has claimed tens of
thousands of Iraqi lives, and demand that the occupying troops leave.
