[Marxism] Castro Now a Millionairre
NPR just aired a piece on Forbes' recent listing of Fidel Castro among the
10 richest world leaders! Revolution can be rewarding, I guess. The NPR
interviewer asked the Forbes' representative how she arrived at the figure
of 150 million, suggesting that Cuban defectives are notorious for
misinformation. The writer acknowledged that it was impossible to obtain
"hard" information, and that the disidents might be exagerating. But she
reassured us that they "took this into consideration" and, if anything, have
underestimated Fidel's actual net worth. With a straight face (or voice, I
guess) she said that they talked to "a lot of people" and feel confident
that their numbers are accurate. When asked if Castro ever lead a spartan
revolutionary lifestyle, she said that, in the beginning he lead the
glamorous life of a revolutionary, but shortly thereafter turned towards
increasing his wealth.
She added that he has palaces and estates all over the island and travels
with a fleet of Mercedes. Hmmmmm.....sounds like Sadaam!

Note that he has a quarter of the Queen's wealth. A rich man indeed! And
our poor President didn't even make the list!
