Armies Mobilize on Deceit
Todd Tavares

More than a year after President Bush began to make claims that Iraq
possessed WMD and posed a threat to the worlds only superpower nearly
half a world away these claims been refuted as far as can possibly be
done by the recent Kay report. Bush still has the upper hand however; it
is impossible to disprove the existence of something that isn't real
(try to disprove Santa to a five year old), hence no can prove that WMD
aren't buried in the Iraq desert. So now the goal of the White House is
two-fold: to spin the cause of war wasn't WMD but because Saddam was a
bad dude and to convince America that the intelligence community somehow

justify its quaint little military adventure. (Read full)

An interview with Joel Andreas, author of comic book expose, "Addicted
to War: Why the U.S. Can't Kick Militarism"
Nicole Aschoff and Pankaj Mehta

What in inspired you to write "Addicted to War: Why the US Can't Kick
Militarism"?

The first gulf war in 1991. The war, and the media's coverage of it,
were outrageous. People didn't understand what was actually going on and
didn't understand the underlying causes of the war, I felt I had to do
something. People weren't getting information from the mainstream news
media. I wanted to make a different kind of information available to
people. My father actually suggested the idea for the book. The initial
idea was just to write an 8-page commentary on the war. When I started
writing I realized that in order to really understand the war peopled
needed an historical understanding of US foreign policy. I had written a
comic book in the 70's called: "The Incredible Rocky"- an unauthorized
biography of the Rockafeller family. It was distributed widely through
progressive grassroots networks; it sold over a 100,000 copies. My
father was familiar with this earlier book and suggested I create
something similar about the Gulf War. (Read full)

Poem by a Palestinian Youth: Eye to Eye

You think you know all about terrorism
But you don't know it the way I do.
So let me define the term for you.
And teach you what you thought you knew.

I've known terrorism for quite some time,
Fifty- four years and more.
It's the fruitless garden uprooted in my yard.
It's the bulldozer in front of my door.

Review of Noam Chomsky's Hegemony or Survival
M. Junaid Alam

Noam Chomsky's latest book, Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for
Global Dominance, methodically and relentlessly exposes the motives and
ambitions of America's political, corporate, and military elite, tearing
off the veil of high-sounding rhetoric to reveal the face of brute
imperial behavior undertaken by America since the end of World War II.

What do we want? U.S. Out!
Keith Rosenthal

BURLINGTON, VT-Close to 75 people marched through the center of
Burlington this past Sunday, February 15, despite temperatures well

Iraq, and in commemoration of the 10 million-person-strong global
