[Marxism] Leo Huberman Papers now in UO Labor Collection.

Date: 1937 - 1967
Description: Professor of labor and economic history, labor editor of
the newspaper PM, and editor and co-founder of Monthly Review.
Correspondence and documents in the case of California vs. Earl King,
Ernest G. Ramsay, and Frank Connor (1937-41); documents and memoranda
(1940-41) relating to PM; public relations director's reports and other
papers (1942-45) of the National Maritime Union; correspondence and
documents (1953) relating to Huberman's appearance before the McCarthy
committee; notes, documents, pamphlets, and clippings, relating to Harry
Bridges, Communist Party, Cuba, India, and Socialism; and speeches, mss.
of articles, books, and pamphlets, published works, and books and
pamphlets from Huberman's personal library. Inventory with the
collection. An M.A. thesis by Chris Brady entitled, "Mid-Century
American Marxist: The Progressive Education of Leo Huberman" was written
primarily from this collection in 1999.
