RE: [Marxism] SWP vote totals?

http://search.eb.com/elections/etable3.html

In 1972, the socialist Left got 146,086 votes....:
Socialist Workers 66,677 (52,799 Linda Jenness, 13,878 Evelyn Reed).
Socialist Labor 53,814 (Louis Fisher)
Communist 25,595 (Gus Hall)

In 1976, we got 248,354 votes....totalling:
Socialist Workers 91,314 (Peter Camejo).
Communist 58,992 (Gus Hall)
People's 49,024 (Margaret Wright)
U.S. Labor 40,063 (Lyndon LaRouche)
I'm adding the LaRouche vote on the assumption that most of the 40,000
were intended as socialist and labor votes, siphoned off into by a
rather small and very well-funded group of cops and pschos.

To put things in some perspective, the votes in 1992, 1996 and 2000 for
James Harris fell from 23,096 to 11,678, and then to 7,378.

It is also noteworthy that broader Left parties have periodically done
better. In 1980, Barry Commoner alone got 234,294. In 1996, Nader got
575,985. In the last election, he got 2,882,985.

Solidarity,
Mark L.
