Years ago I wrote a history of the Stern Gang for a college course.
The professor's major complaint was my closing paragraph.  I don't
remember if it was the essence of my conclusion itself, but he was
sensitive enough a mentor to warn me about such outspoken assertions in
graduate school. See:

     "The only hope for the Middle East is the establishment of a
secular socialist state, a co-operative versus competitive society in
Palestine that tolerates the age-old superstitions of its citizens
equally by the establishment of one law for all. There is no other way
to redress all the wrongs of the past.*  The eternal enemies of
socialism dominate the capitals of every illegitimate, imperially sired
state in the Middle East. The status quo, these Jewish and Arab
compradors of the Imperial metropole, must be overthrown. They must be
replaced by the People. Or the People, Arabs and Jews, will be thrown
into a battle won by no one."

* A footnote contains the following phrase: "...the central, primary,
key issue in all the strife between Israel and its neighbors: the
usurpation of a people?s land and their diaspora.... The fundamental
accomplishment leading toward a lasting peace would be the realization
that all the people of Palestine share the same rights, and the land."

I might've added:
"Otherwise: ?sof odom muves?."
(a Yiddish phrase meaning ?the end of man is death?,
or in conventional, modern parlance, it might mean ?Things look pretty
bad.?).
