Response Jim C. Well I must say that I did not know about or see, from
my admittedly cursory examination of his website, the stuff to which
Macdonald is alluding. Hank has certainly read some of my stuff on
Marxism and knows that: a)I regard Zionism as but another form of
naziism; b) I stand resolutely with the Palestinian cause; c) have
documented numerous examples of Zionist treachery and outright nazi-like
crimes not only against Palestinians, South Africans, Chileans,
Guatemalans etc, but against Jews as well--past and present; d) I have
not one ounce of anti-Semitism in me and in fact have a history of
struggle against anti-Semites and anti-Semitism covering many years; e)
I do not regard any settlers and occupiers as "innocents" and consider
the mere act of occupation of stolen lands alone a form of unjust
violence in addition to other forms of violence employed to take and
hold that land; f) I consider any moral culpability for any deaths of
"innocents" to be placed with the occupiers and exploiters and not with
those employing just violence and tactics dictated by the realities of
occupation against unjust violence of the occupiers; g) I see Israel as
an outpost and whore of U.S. imperialism; h) I see Zionism and Israel as
betrayals and desecrations of the memories and sacrifices of the victims
of the Holocaust--Jewish and non-Jewish--especially when they use the
horrors of the Holocaust to attempt to justify their nazi policies and
tactics; i) I see the Jewish-exclusivism in reference to the victims of
the nazi Holocaust as exactly what they nazis did: rank-ordering human
beings and human worth though rank-ordering of the victims.

I don't know, maybe Hank had not read some of my stuff on Zionism as I
had not read some of his. But in any case, my exchanges led me to
believe he has some decency and courage on some critical issues and that
was what I was responding to--my exchanges were on the subject of
veteran's issues, imperialism, Bush etc. He has an organization called
"Jewish War Veterans" but I did not carefully go beyond that to his
positions on Israel. I'll just have to disagree with what I have seen so
far from him on the subject of Israel, hope he connects the dots in
terms of applying certain principles and approaches on subjects other
than Israel and Zionism to examination of Israel and Zionism--and wish
him a quick recovery.
