It depends on the content of the nostalgia does it not? A longing for free
health and job security is surely wholly progressive, is it not? (BTW how
does that fit into the State Capitalist formula? - Just curious don't
really want an answer!)
Here in Oz we have had our own nostalgia provoked in part by in the
insecurities of neo-liberal economics. It was expressed chiefly though
Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party and took the form not of a longing for
the return of Keynesianism but rather the days of an undiluted white
colonial supremacy- when you could call an indigenous person a coon or a
boong and a gay person a poofter and everyone cheered you on!
