This is of course good news for the Democrats, whose principle "opposition"
to the invasion of Iraq was precisely that it was a distraction from the
"war on terror," and should have been saved for later, after the capture of
bin Laden, more decisive defeat of Al Qaeda, etc. Unfortunately, it is no
help to those of us for whom the "war on terror" and in particular the
invasion of Afghanistan was as wrong and outrageous as the invasion of Iraq,
and just as much a part of the U.S. drive to dominate the world and roll
back the rights of working people.
