New Albanian paramilitary group in Montenegro?
-The Albanian-language Internet site of the
Montenegrin National Army bears a great resemblance to
those of Albanian extremists in south Serbia, Kosovo
and Macedonia. It?s address is
www.ushtriamalitzi.it.st.
PODGORICA -- Saturday ? A previously unknown group
calling itself the Montenegrin National Army has
warned that ?experimenting with the fate of Albanians
in Montenegro? would lead to ?actions aimed against
essential Montenegrin buildings and interests?.
The organisation?s Internet site claims that the
Albanian community in Montenegro and the federal state
are discriminated against and threatens to cause
?problems in the Balkans?.
Albanian political leaders in the republic say they
nothing about the newly-emerged organisation.
The Albanian-language Internet site of the Montenegrin
National Army bears a great resemblance to those of
Albanian extremists in south Serbia, Kosovo and
Macedonia. It?s address is www.ushtriamalitzi.it.st.
An unsigned article on the site claims that Albanians
have been ?reduced to the level of Gypsies? in the
preamble of the Constitutional Framework of what the
site refers to as the ?pseudostate? of
Serbia-Montenegro which, it claims, has been
established ?on territory which is naturally
Albanian?.
?Albanians are seeking a national debate, not the
changing of borders by force? But we will pursue our
rights with all our power,? claims the organisation.
If the ?undervaluing of Albanians? continues, says the
Montenegrin National Army it will take action against
the essential strategic buildings and interests of
Serbia-Montenegro.

Army of Montenegro (UKMZ) has warned Montenegrin
authorities it would attack government institutions if
the authorities "continue to experiment with the fate

Montenegrin parties condemn Albanian people's party in
Montenegro
17:34 PODGORICA , Jan 11 (Tanjug) - Montenegrin
political parties on Sunday unanimously condemned a
threat of the Albanian people's army in Montenegro
(UKM) to launch guerilla actions against vital objects
of the "Serbian-Montenegrin pseudostate" if the
underestimation of ethnic Albanians in Montenegro
continued.
Reacting to threats of the so far unknown UKM, posted
at its website, Democratic Party of Socialists ranking
official Miodrag Vukovic said that one should approach
this issue with care, but that this was not a real
danger that might jeopardise Montenegro.

Ethnic enclaves ?harmful for Montenegrins and
Albanians?
-"The only solution for Albanians in Montenegro is for
the territory we inhabit to be divided into three
regions."
PODGORICA -- Saturday ? Senior Democratic Party of
Socialists official Miodrag Vukovic said today that
the idea of regionalisation floated by Montenegro
Albanians this week would be extraordinary damaging to
Montenegro and even more so to Albanian residents in
the republic.
Vukovic was commenting on reports yesterday of a
petition launched among ethnic Albanians in Montenegro
calling for the creation of three regions.
One of the organisers of the petition said Albanians
in Montenegro had outgrown the form of local
government provided in the republic's municipalities.
"The only solution for Albanians in Montenegro is for
the territory we inhabit to be divided into three
regions," Nik Djeljosaj was quoted as saying.
He announced the establishment of an NGO to work on
the proposal.
Vukovic warned today that the demand for regional
divisions was an extreme one which threatened the
territorial integrity of Montenegro as well as its
ambitions for a European future.
?This is in complete contradiction of European
standards,? he added.
The Democratic Union of Albanians, which is
represented in the Montenegrin parliament, has
distanced itself from the petition, reports Vijesti.

Serbian population in Kosovo suffers hardship - Melnik
18:19 MOSCOW , Jan 10 (Tanjug) - The Serbian
population in Kosovo suffers hardship, said Saturday
Alexander Melnik, president of the Russian Andrei
Pervozvanny Fund, who was part of the delegation that
this week visited, together with Russian journalists,
Kosovo and Metohija on a humanitarian mission.
"Monasteries and sacred places are attacked. That is
why Serbs forced to leave their homes," said Melnik,
recalling that in Pristina there were 20,000 Serbs
before the war in Kosovo and that the population has
now reduced to 150 people.
