RE: [Marxism] Critique of Parenti on Kosovo

Hi Folks,

This is not flame bait but rather an honest inquiry from someone very
ignorant about the forces and realities in the so-called "Balkan
Conflicts"--me. It is not that I don't care, I do, and this is an
important issue I believe, but this is a neglected area of my education.

1) Were the KLA forces not the forces that Geraldo [Rivera] traveled
with and promoted before he wound up where he truly belongs--on the Fox
Network?

2) Is the issue not more than whether or not atrocities were committed
by x forces against y people but rather whether or not any atrocities
came from actual policies and intentions (macro) of those x forces as
opposed to ad hoc actions and crimes by depraved elements of x forces?
For example, previously, those forces who collaborated with nazis during
World War II, elements or descendants of which still remain, had a
stated policy of eliminating Serbs as a People whereas at least then,
the reverse was not true.

3) Were elements of the KLA not accused by elements of the U.S.
Government itself (e.g. DEA) not accused of dope trafficking and
trafficking in sexual slavery and other forms of racketeering?

4) Was the creation and subsequent established leadership of the KLA not
like the process that created the organization and leadership of the
so-called INC and Chalabi in Iraq--by the same elements of the U.S.?

Just some questions I had.

By the way I bought a copy of the CD "The Trials of Henry Kissinger"
which focuses on the book by the same title by Hitchens? Actually it is
not bad, it does document fairly well why Kissinger should be a
candidate for the process-and fate--faced by those 12 hanged at
Nuremberg--if not the process and fate faced by Mussolini and his
mistress--and for precisely the same reasons and  I wonder how Hitchens
is getting along with his new-found buddies on the right or if they will
ever trust him fully.
