Nicholas Kristof tabulated the casualties of the war in the New
York Times on Nov 19: "... at a cost so far of 400
American lives and (one study suggests) at least 11,000 Iraqi
lives".(1) I was struck by the obvious racism.

Actually, this article was amazing in that it mentioned ANY Iraqi dead;
that's something that is not only rare, it's virtually non-existent.

And, what is just as striking is that 93 soldiers from "coalition"
countries, including British, Spanish, Italians, and others, have been
killed, and even THEY are virtually never mentioned in the press.

Also rarely mentioned are the number of civilian employees, Iraqi and
foreign, of the US and coalition forces and of the companies who have
contracts with them.
